Lastly, I highly recommend essay-writing.My experience with writing academic essays (and theses) has been very beneficial in my fiction writing. Having said that, I'm still an absolute pantser when it comes to fiction. Definitely a 5%-plot-95%-pants deal with me.

This is the best way to support me so far.On Webtoon:Reading, subscribing to, and engaging with my series on the Webtoon app really helps. Playing ads to unlock ad-locked episodes helps financially support the series, and every little bit counts.Thank you so much for supporting me!
I draw (draft+lineart+color), write, and market this series (make animatics) entirely on my own, so making 40+ panel updates is impossible. Additionally, I undergo physiotherapy for my right arm and shoulder, having started treatment in 2024. My condition (tendonitis and a score of issues related to muscle overuse over the last 10 years) forces me to draw slower than before and with far more breaks in between. Lastly, a lot of mainstream webtoons have entire teams of artists and writers working on them, whereas I'm just one person. So I thank you for your patience.

But I wish you all the best!
I do not, and will never, use GenAI in any stage of my art and writing. I hate the damage it's done to em dashes, vague language, and neurodivergent writing. While I avoid AI in real life as much as I can, I acknowledge that it's a privileged choice to make. AI is shoved down our throats every single minute by the companies we work for, corporations, institutions, and that one relative who can't get enough of AI slop kittens.
There is an argument for AI being a 'tool' to be used in art/animation if it's a locally-developed system (trained on consensually-shared intellectual property). Then, I can see a use-case for studios. If AI could reduce artists' workload, improve their quality of life, and help them earn more money using their own art, no one would be complaining. But the very basis of GenAI lies in stealing artists' and writers' IP. All that for soulless slop that comes with a(n em) dash of horrific environmental impact while we're at it. AI being used to "make" art/creative writing to be sold, is just the new face of a long line of scams and con-artistry. Straight out of Uncanny Valley, this time around. If you're seriously looking into becoming an artist or writer, please don't engage with GenAI. There are tons of free learning resources for artists and writers across the internet, just like how AI apps are at the tips of your hands. The choice is yours.
Learn, fail, and improve. Make art and writing that is more than anything, yours, and not the product of a glorified, thieving, auto-correct chuckleclunk that may hallucinate on a random Thursday and convince you that you're the God of Writing. Yes, AI is not going away and it's here to stay in some form or the other. But it needs--needed guardrails yesterday. I am a signatory of the Creators Coalition on AI (CCAI) for this very reason.AI in science, medicine, forensics, or in fields that are far too dangerous? I support it, with appropriate guardrails and job-security for its human counterparts. Please support human artists and writers, and perhaps even more importantly, the traditional artists and craftspeople in your region.
